Trentham | Commercial Pool Project

The NZCIS Sports Hub in Trentham features a state-of-the-art recovery facility incorporating large hydrotherapy and hot and cold plunge pools. Working alongside SwimEx New Zealand and the wider project team, Taylors Pools and Spas was contracted to assemble and install the four pools, complete all associated plumbing and install the water treatment systems. The project showcases our ability to deliver complex aquatic installations as part of large-scale commercial developments.

The Challenge

The NZCIS Sports Hub required a specialist recovery facility capable of supporting high-performance athletes through a combination of hydrotherapy, hot and cold water recovery and underwater exercise.

Taylors joined the project alongside SwimEx New Zealand, with the overall pool design already established. Our role was to bring the aquatic systems together on site, completing the plumbing, pool assembly and associated water treatment installations across all four pools.

The project also incorporated specialist features including swim spa jet systems, an underwater treadmill and a viewing platform, requiring careful coordination between the pool equipment, plumbing and surrounding construction.

The Solution

Working closely with SwimEx New Zealand, our team assembled and installed the two hydrotherapy pools and two large plunge pools. The hydrotherapy installation included a SwimEx SX8000 and SX1000T, while the recovery area also featured dedicated 8.2m hot and cold plunge pools.

Taylors completed the plumbing and equipment installation for all four pools, connecting the pools and their associated circulation and treatment systems. We also supplied and installed four Quantum UV systems, providing dedicated UV water treatment for each pool.

The installation included specialist swim spa jet systems within the two recovery pools, as well as plumbing associated with the underwater treadmill. Working within a large, highly specialised recovery environment required careful coordination with SwimEx and the wider construction team to ensure each system was installed correctly and ready for commissioning.

The Process

Coordinate

Working alongside SwimEx New Zealand and the wider project team, we coordinated the installation requirements for the four aquatic facilities.

Assemble

The two SwimEx hydrotherapy pools and two large plunge pools were assembled and positioned as part of the recovery facility installation.

Plumbing

Complete plumbing systems were installed for all four pools, including circulation and specialist equipment connections.

Water Treatment

Four Quantum UV systems were supplied and installed, providing dedicated water treatment for each pool

Specialist Features

Plumbing was completed for the swim spa jet systems and underwater treadmill, integrating the specialist aquatic equipment into the wider pool systems.

Commission

The completed installations were tested and commissioned, ready to form part of the NZCIS high-performance athlete recovery facility.

The Result

Taylors successfully delivered the pool assembly, plumbing and water treatment components across all four pools as part of the wider NZCIS Sports Hub project. The result is a sophisticated recovery facility that demonstrates our ability to work alongside specialist suppliers and major construction teams on complex commercial aquatic projects.

The project also highlights the versatility of our commercial team — from traditional swimming pools and water features through to highly specialised hydrotherapy and athlete recovery facilities.
